McClellan Helps Shuckers Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Biloxi Shuckers defeated the Olympia Ogres, 7-1, at The Pizza Oven. Biloxi designated hitter Rodney McClellan was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Boris Milatovic, the winner, improved to 1-2. He held Olympia to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. José Stanley, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
McClellan contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Biloxi in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, McClellan took a curveball from Al Poe and stroked the home run to right-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Shuckers to leap in front, 2-1.
McClellan called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The Ogres fall to 6-6 and continue their uneasy start to the 2041 season.
