Mercer Island got an elite performance from starting pitcher Jing-xiang Lingxin in taking a 2-1 decision over the Crescent City Krewe. Mercer Island reliever Jing-xiang Lingxin was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. David Flowers took the loss for Crescent City. Noah Walker finished the game for Mercer Island and earned his 1st save.

Had Nobukazu Fujihara not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Fujihara hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Screaming Eagles.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Fujihara. "And not try to do too much."

It was the 8th win in 11 games this year for the defending champion Screaming Eagles, who are picking up where they left off.
