Blimps Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Fighting Imps
Ithaca pitcher Glenn Underwood gave the Blimps all they could handle, but in the end, Akron left Goodyear Hanger Dome with a 7-4 win. Underwood allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits over 7 innings. The winner was Dan Burton in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jimmy Whitney took the loss. With the win, Akron is 3-3.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Akron trailing 4-3, Sam Hamilton hit a cutter from Jimmy Whitney for a grand slam home run, giving the Blimps the walk-off win.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Hamilton said.
