The Screaming Eagles had to overcome a good performance from Biloxi pitcher Joe Yoder to claim a 3-2 win at The Pizza Oven. Yoder went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Mercer Island reliever Ming Zhai was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Júlio del Bosque took the loss. The Screaming Eagles, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.

Mercer Island used the timely hitting of Andrew Bash to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Bash.
