Fighting Imps Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Ithaca starter Alfredo Rodríguez pitched effectively against the Crescent City Krewe at Field of the Krewe. The right-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Getting the save was Jimmy Whitney, his 1st. The Fighting Imps have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 3 games.
The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning, but Jimmy Whitney didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Crescent City trailing 3-1, Whitney retired Jorge Muñóz to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Whitney, with a wink.
