Thunder Hawks Win at Irving, 3-1
|
Fans who gathered at Blue Sox Ballpark saw a good contest between the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and Irving Blue Sox.
Gerard Tremwade pitched a gem to lead Ft. Polk South to a 3-1 victory over the Irving Blue Sox. The winning pitcher was Tremwade, now 6-6. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 4. Masaki Ito got the save, his 5th in 7 chances.
Jasper Humphrey put Ft. Polk South in front, 2-0, when he hit a solo home run off Greg Poe in the top of the fifth. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Tremwade.
The 8th-place Thunder Hawks lifted their record to 50-52.
