Silver Sox Prevail, 4-2, Over Cleveland
|
The Chicago Silver Sox and Cleveland Browns played an exciting game at Factory of Sadness.
Chicago center fielder Jack McCusker was instrumental in his team's 4-2 win over the Cleveland Browns. McCusker went 2-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Silver Sox. Julián Moreno picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 3-12. Tate Beason recorded the save for Chicago, his 7th of the season.
McCusker had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-2 changeup from Yan van der Meijden, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Silver Sox a 2-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for McCusker.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Chicago manager Dustin Hewitt.
Chicago has now won 3 in a row.
