Fans who gathered at Blue Sox Ballpark saw a good contest between the Atlantic City Sonics and Irving Blue Sox.
The inspired effort of Irving right fielder Omar Luoa was not enough to prevent a 6-4 loss to the Atlantic City Sonics. Luoa went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Jay Newton got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 6 innings.
Atlantic City used the clutch hitting of August Force to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to give the Sonics the lead, 4-3. For the game, Force had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Force.
Atlantic City now owns a record of 57-40.
