Whales Raise Rally Flag, Beat Northville, 4-3
|
Virginia Beach Whales starter Mark Taylor pitched a strong game against the Northville Eclipse at Virginia Beach Grounds, leading the Whales to a 4-3 win. The Whales sit in 6th place in the Silver AA with a record of 42-42.
The Whales were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Dave Thomas turned a 0-1 curveball from Erik Jackson into a 2-run double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Virginia Beach a thrilling 4-3 win.
Thomas called the triumph "a good team win."
