The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks beat the Virginia Beach Whales, 7-1, at Virginia Beach Grounds. The Thunder Hawks got a fine performance from third baseman Kamaaluddeen Kohli, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Thunder Hawks' win now puts them at 37-44.

Ft. Polk South used the timely hitting of Dermott Mann to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Virginia Beach manager Bernie Drake.
