Cleveland right fielder Jim Brown was a significant contributor in his team's 4-2 triumph over the New Orleans Voodoo. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles for Cleveland. Cleveland reliever Jay Cannon picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Gary Ashley absorbed the loss. Cleveland's record now stands at 42-47, placing them 7th in the Premier League.

The Voodoo had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Browns going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old third baseman Meester Gobbles-Rooster came to the plate. Gobbles-Rooster hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 curveball from New Orleans hurler Gary Ashley. It was Gobbles-Rooster's 17th home run of the year.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Brown.
