Omar Luoa was instrumental in his team's 4-3 triumph over the St. Petersburg Thunder. The right fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Irving Blue Sox. Jeff Davis picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 10 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 1-0. Getting the save was Hank Lynn, his 3rd.
Luoa contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Irving in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Luoa took a fastball from Lorenzo Carregosa and stroked the home run to center. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Blue Sox to leap in front, 4-2.
