The Casper Ghosts eked out a 4-3 win versus the Virginia Beach Whales at Virginia Beach Grounds. Nobody did more than catcher Félix Fernández, who captured player of the game honors. Tomás Mata got the win, improving to 4-3. He held the Whales to 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 4. With the win over Virginia Beach, the Ghosts improved to 34-25.
Casper used a timely hit from Edward Kisiner to get the win. The right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put the Ghosts on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Kisiner.
