Farmers Squelch Fur Traders Offense in Shutout Win
The Lancaster Farmers went home winners at Ballpark of Tacoma, thanks in large part to starter Keith Lawrence. Lawrence silenced the Tacoma Fur Traders, enabling Lancaster to grab the 4-0 win. Lawrence, now 5-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Lancaster is now 25-31, while Tacoma is 18-38.

The outcome might have been different for Lancaster, had it not been for Robert Shannon, the 21-year old first baseman . Shannon stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Lancaster up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Lawrence told the Lancaster Herald.
