Virginia Beach got a strong outing from Sylvain Richard as the Whales defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-2, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Mike Park, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Whales sit in 6th place in the Silver AA with a record of 24-27.

Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of Henry Head to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Whales ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was an important one.

"Sylvain was throwing strikes, locating well," said Virginia Beach manager Bernie Drake.
