Clements Helps Sonics Run Win Streak to 3
|
Getting a good performance from designated hitter John Clements, the Atlantic City Sonics defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders, 8-1. Clements was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 for the Sonics. Heath Brown earned the win to go to 7-2. He allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. Tacoma has now lost 4 consecutive games.
With Atlantic City leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Clements hit a fastball from Félix Benítez for a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Sonics ahead, 2-0.
