Nationals Take Nail-Biter Over Blues
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Ottawa Nationals and the Barton Springs Blues, Ernest Brock was the difference-maker. The Ottawa right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 win. Ottawa reliever Travis Conklin was credited with the win, to go to 4-2. Rafael Santiago took the loss for Barton Springs. Ottawa bumps their record to 37-64 with the win.
Ottawa won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Rafael Santiago on the mound for Barton Springs, first baseman Imbart Baars hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Nationals fans to their feet.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Baars. "Maybe this win will help."
