Atoms Reel Off Another Win
|
Bethesda rode a good effort from starter Pacho Hernández to beat the Yakima Hops at Atoms Field. The final score was 3-1. The winning pitcher was Hernández, now 8-2. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Byron Joe nailed down his 11th save.
Jorge Gardella, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA in stolen bases with 22, chipped in for Bethesda with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Bethesda manager Randy Stevens.
The Atoms have now won 10 straight.
