The Rails had to overcome a fine effort from Squirrel Hill pitcher Sean Halls to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Field of the Rawhides. Halls went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Chris Holmes earned the win to go to 3-5. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Richland is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Javier Botín aided the Richland cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs.
