White Walkers Get Road Win, 4-3
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Max Bortenschlager, the Buffalo White Walkers defeated the Mississippi Mockingbirds, 4-3. Bortenschlager belted 2 home runs for the White Walkers. John A. Mais got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 6.1 innings. Kenji Aoki earned the save, his 2nd.
With Buffalo leading 3-0 in the top of the eighth, Bortenschlager hit a changeup from Todd Denton for a solo home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the White Walkers ahead, 4-0.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Bortenschlager told the Buffalo Observer.
Losses have been rare for the Mockingbirds, who are now 6-2.
