The New Orleans Voodoo picked up a win at Atlantica, knocking off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 3-2. Starting pitcher Sjoerd Reynoud played a key role in the triumph. The win was Grover Lowdermilk's in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Yoriyoshi Sugimoto took the loss for Northern Virginia. Joe Khokar got the save, his 22nd in 22 chances.

New Orleans used the clutch hitting of Jason Slaybaugh to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Voodoo the lead, 3-2. For the game, Slaybaugh had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"I felt good up there," said Slaybaugh. "I saw the ball well."

New Orleans is third in the Premier League with a record of 48-32.
