Campbell, Ottawa Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Ottawa and Bethesda duked it out at Atoms Field and the Nationals came out victorious.
The Ottawa Nationals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jonathan Campbell, who stifled the Bethesda offense en route to a 2-0 Nationals win at Atoms Field. Pei Fa converted his 11th save in 12 tries.
The famously hardworking Campbell handled the Atoms all day, notching 5 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Campbell, who is tied for 7th in the 3AA in wins with 6, goes to 6-4 on the year with 45 strikeouts.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Bethesda skipper Randy Stevens, "and it cost us."
Ottawa is now 29-43, while Bethesda is 40-32.
