The Charleston Battery stopped the Buffalo White Walkers, 6-5, at Beyond the Wall. The Battery got a big game from Benno Luby, who was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Scotty Bingham earned the win for Charleston. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 6-6. Charleston, at 35-44, sits in 8th place in the Premier League.
Luby had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 curveball from Kent Good, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Battery a 6-4 lead. It was the 95th hit of the year for Luby.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Buffalo manager Chris Lau. "The effort was great."
