Polar Bears Raise Rally Flag, Beat Richland, 4-2
|
Richland pitcher Alfredo Molina gave the Polar Bears all they could handle, but in the end, Billings left Rails Ballpark with a 4-2 win. Molina allowed no earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings. Tim Shreeve picked up the save for Billings, his 1st of the year. The Polar Bears improved to 31-39.
Billings used the clutch hitting of Kelly Johnson to capture the win. The catcher drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Polar Bears the lead, 4-0. For the game, Johnson had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Johnson.
