Rails Fall to .500 After Loss to Highlanders
|
The Asheville Highlanders picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, knocking off the Richland Rails, 6-4. Starting pitcher Vicente Molina, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Molina went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-8. The save went to Ryan Long, his 1st this season.
Asheville used a timely hit from Joe Frank to get the win. The left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Highlanders on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Molina said after the game.
Asheville is third in the Menard's AA with a record of 42-24.
