Nationals Drop Another One
|
Another game, another loss for the struggling Ottawa Nationals.
The Barton Springs Blues picked up a win at Blues Field, knocking off the Ottawa Nationals, 6-3. Starting pitcher Dave Newman played a key role in the triumph. Newman got the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Newman allowed 2 earned runs. Bungay Osiman notched his 16th save in 17 chances.
Carlos Hernández hit a run-scoring double off Ernest Brock in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Blues in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Hernández had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hernández said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Ottawa has now lost 8 in a row.
