Hanley, Rails Get 4-1 Win
|
Richland and Providence duked it out at Field of Plenty and the Rails came out victorious.
The Richland Rails got a strong performance from pitcher Todd Hanley, who stymied the Providence offense en route to a 4-1 win at Field of Plenty. Will Sovaiala was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.
Hanley, who dominated for Richland, earned the victory to move to 2-4. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. Providence batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Todd was throwing free and easy," said Richland manager Fernando Mendoza.
Richland has a 3-game win streak, while Providence has lost 3 in a row.
