Victory Over Highlanders Takes Marquette to 37-15
|
The Marquette Miners defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 6-2, in M3L Double A action at Marquette Stadium, with Marquette pitcher Zi-cheng Pei named player of the game. The Miners improved to a lofty 37-15.
Eric Manchester, who is tied for 9th in the 3AA with a 64.0 innings pitched, helped out the Marquette cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the designated hitter drew 2 walks.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Pei.
