Blues Bang Out 7-1 Win Versus Asheville
|
The Barton Springs Blues beat the Asheville Highlanders, 7-1, at Blues Field. The Blues got a fine performance from pitcher John Gaudet, who captured player of the game honors. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Gaudet, now 2-2. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. With the win over Asheville, the Blues improved to 18-27.
Making an impact for the home team was Steffen Schulte. In the bottom of the second, the 22-year old center fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Blues.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Schulte said.
