Rails Bridle Miners, 4-2
|
It was a fun time at Rails Ballpark, where the Marquette Miners and Richland Rails tangled.
The Richland Rails beat the Marquette Miners, 4-2, at Rails Ballpark. Richland second baseman Jon Hill earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Richland reliever Jose Jovellanos got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jeff McDermott was tagged with the loss. Chris Holmes picked up the save, his 3rd.
In the first inning, Hill had a 2-run home run for Richland. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Rails on top, 2-0.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Richland manager Fernando Mendoza. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Rails are now 20-25, while the Miners fall to 33-12.
