Late Rally by Miners Secures Win
Behind a solid performance from catcher Chris Thompson, the Marquette Miners defeated the Richland Rails, 5-2. Thompson was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Miners. The Miners improved to a lofty 33-11.

Thompson had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Felix Klapwijk, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Miners a 5-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Thompson.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Thompson said.
