Miners Win 2-1 Walk-Off
|
The Marquette Miners scored a 2-1 win versus the Minnesota Loons at Marquette Stadium. Marquette pitcher Shan-bo Kang nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Marquette reliever Shan-bo Kang was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Vicente Dávila took the loss for Minnesota. Marquette leads the Menard's AA by 5˝ games.
Jesús Méndez was the walk-off hero for Marquette. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Miners shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was a solid team effort," said Méndez after the game.
