Mockingbirds Bang Out 7-1 Win Versus Buffalo
|
Mississippi Mockingbirds starter Mei Zhào kept the Buffalo White Walkers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 7-1 win. Zhào, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 2 walks. The Mockingbirds raised their record to 27-45.
Mississippi used the timely hitting of Akihiko Fujii to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mockingbirds ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Fujii told the Mississippi Today.
