Boston Patriots starter Alberto López was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Chicago Silver Sox, 6-3. López went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-3. Rafael Herrera, credited with the save, is now 4 for 5 in save opportunities.
The Patriots grabbed the lead in the bottom of the first. With one out, Jae-woo Ohm hit a 2-run home run off Carl MacPherson, putting Boston in front, 2-1. For Ohm, it was his 9th home run of the season.
"It was our day today," Ohm told the Boston Daily News. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The Silver Sox, now 18-54, have lost 5 straight.
