Loons Get 9-6 Win Versus Providence
|
Roy Bagnall left his imprint on the 9-6 Minnesota win against the Providence Pilgrims. Bagnall, who is tied for 5th in the 3AA with a 1.076 OPS, was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Vicente Dávila got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. With the win, Minnesota is 9-6.
The outcome might have been different for Minnesota, had it not been for Tobias Valencia, the 23-year old center fielder . Valencia stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Minnesota up, 7-5. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Rafael Clemente said.
