Patton Goes Wild, But Golden Cranes Win
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes overcame a good performance by Pawnee designated hitter Buddy Patton to knock off Pawnee, 10-4, at Crane Field. Patton was 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Dorian Gunther earned the win for Santa Barbara. He lasted 7.2 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 10-4. The Golden Cranes now have a mark of 56-33.

Ernest Lesley, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a cutter from Jessie James for a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season put Santa Barbara in front, 6-4.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Lesley told the Santa Barbara Daily News.
