Polar Bears Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Billings beat Ottawa at Nationals Park, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Steve Roberson, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Earning his 1st save of the year was Arturo Cuellar. The Polar Bears, with just their 4th win so far in 2041, have yet to catch fire.
In the first inning, Roberson had a 2-run single for Billings. It was his 11th hit of the season and put the Polar Bears on top, 3-0.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Roberson, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
