Great Day for McMurran in Dodos Win
|
The Hialeah Dodos knocked off the Tortolita Drummers, 11-8, at Drummers Ballpark. Dallas McMurran, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Hialeah won. The second baseman was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Hialeah reliever Júlio Antunez picked up the win to move to 4-3. Jerry Magee suffered the loss. Nam Yee Yong earned the save for Hialeah, his 2nd of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Hialeah, had it not been for Yaakov Shmerkin, the 26-year old left fielder . Shmerkin contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Hialeah up, 10-8.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Hialeah manager Nick Allen.
The 5th-place Dodos have won 6 consecutive games.
