Victory Over Patriots Takes New Orleans to 42-27
|
The New Orleans Voodoo topped the Boston Patriots by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Jason Slaybaugh. Slaybaugh was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs for the Voodoo. The Patriots, at 40-29, have lost 4 in a row.
New Orleans relied on the hitting of Danny Trautmann to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Voodoo on top, 3-0. For the game, Trautmann had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I like the roll we're on," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
