Spirited fans at Charleston Armory greeted the Charleston Battery for their clash with the Boston Patriots.

Boston Patriots starter Alberto López was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Charleston Battery, 5-2. López went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0.

Boston used the bat of Juan Dávila to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," López said.

The Patriots are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 3rd win in 7 games.
