Battery Deal Evergreens Painful Loss
The Charleston Battery overcame a good performance by Portland right fielder Vicente Gomillion to knock off Portland, 11-10, at Charleston Armory. Gomillion was 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Martín García picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-4. Raúl Romero was tagged with the loss. With the win, Charleston has a record of 28-36. Portland falls to 30-34.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 13th. With Charleston trailing 10-9, Benno Luby hit a fastball from Raúl Romero to center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Battery had a walk-off win.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Luby told the Charleston Bulletin.
