The Cleveland Browns defeated the Portland Evergreens, 2-1, in United States Premier League action at Factory of Sadness, with Cleveland pitcher Jay Cannon named player of the game. Cleveland reliever Juan Vias was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Gerald Orlebar took the loss. The Browns move to 29-33 with the win, while the Evergreens drop to 29-33.

Dale Epner was 1-3 for Cleveland. The 30-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Raúl Romero. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Cannon.
