Browns Lose to Evergreens, 4-1
|
The Portland Evergreens picked up a win at Factory of Sadness, knocking off the Cleveland Browns, 4-1. Starting pitcher Cristián Moreno played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Moreno, now 4-3. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2. Seong-hyeon Yi was credited with the save for Portland, his 2nd of the season.
Portland used the clutch hitting of Sinclair Bothof to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Evergreens ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck.
Portland, at 29-32, sits in 5th place in the Premier League.
