New Orleans pitcher Markus Widner gave the Mockingbirds all they could handle, but in the end, Mississippi left Magnolia Park with a 3-2 win. Widner allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 6.2 innings. The winner was Ewan Atwood in relief. His record improves to 3-5. Ted Chong took the loss. The Voodoo, now 32-27, have lost 4 straight.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Quinn Albracht came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing New Orleans pitcher Ted Chong, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Mississippi on top, 3-2.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Albracht.
