Drummers Mow Down Dodos, 10-2

The Hialeah Dodos and Tortolita Drummers brought some excitement to Dodos Ballpark.
Tortolita designated hitter Hayes Rutherford made his presence felt in the 10-2 Drummers triumph over the Hialeah Dodos. Rutherford went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Freddy Calcines earned the win for Tortolita. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing no earned runs on 1 hit, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 3-4.
The fans who came in support of the Drummers were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Dodos Ballpark.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Rutherford, cracking a smile.
With the victory, the Drummers record now stands at 29-36.
