Men Defeat Rocks, 3-0
|
Florida beat Plymouth on the strength of starter John Penton's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 3-0 win. Earning his 4th save for Florida was Marty McFly. The Men are now 16-23, while the Rocks fall to 18-21.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Plymouth hurler Shem Burkholder, Badry Maksimenov, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in bases on balls with 26, drew a walk. The Men went on to win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Maksimenov.
