Santa Barbara turned a good effort from starter Kagetoki Matsubara into a win over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field. The final score was 2-1. Tom Warrawong, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Golden Cranes have an impressive 21-13 record.
Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Ernest Lesley, hit a single. It helped Santa Barbara seize the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Matsubara said after the game.
