Lake Monsters Knock Off Drummers at Drummers Ballpark

Vermont and Tortolita met at Drummers Ballpark in front of a lively crowd.
The Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Tortolita Drummers, 7-4, at Drummers Ballpark. Vermont right fielder Frank Tatum was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Kee Bao got the win, improving to 3-3. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0.
Vermont used the timely hitting of Dusty Crum to capture the win. The catcher socked a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Crum.
Today's win puts Vermont at 14-19, while Tortolita falls to 16-17.
