The Nolensville Knights and Santa Barbara Golden Cranes provided some drama at Ballpark of Alloway.
The Nolensville Knights got a superb performance from left fielder Dale Goodman. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Santa Barbara. The Golden Cranes won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Goodman was named the player of the game. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs. Jin-soo Jan-Hui, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 5.1 innings. Picking up the save was Tom Warrawong, his 3rd.
The result might have been different for Santa Barbara, had it not been for Ernest Lesley. The third baseman produced a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Golden Cranes ahead, 5-2. For the game, Lesley had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We've got a great group of guys," Lesley said, "and we're having fun right now."
Santa Barbara occupies second place in the Silver AAA at 20-12.
