Dodos, Sperber Pin Bad Loss on Men
|
The Hialeah Dodos bested the Florida Men by a score of 11-0, with right fielder Murray Sperber getting the main credit. On the day, Sperber went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Dodos. Cody Wilson got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Men to no earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Florida has now lost 4 straight.
Hialeah used the bat of Juan Reyes to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dodos ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We maximized our offense today," said Hialeah skipper Nick Allen. "That makes everyone's life easier."
